Gojo Ethiopian Cafe and Restaurant, nestled in Nashville, offers an enticing dive into the rich flavors of Ethiopian cuisine. Patrons rave about dishes like the Asa Goulash, featuring delicate fish simmered in a spicy sauce, and the beloved Awaze Chicken Tibs—both priced at $16.99. The culinary experience is complemented by vibrant salads, such as the Avocado Salad and Azifa Salad, each bursting with fresh ingredients. Holly Williams captures the essence of the cafe, describing it as a quaint yet rustic venue. Although the decor is dated, the cleanliness and delicious food more than compensate. The Chicken Tibs, in particular, garnered praise for their rich seasoning, despite some vegetables being deemed slightly bland. The absence of silverware encourages diners to embrace the traditional Ethiopian way of eating, using injera bread. Service is consistently highlighted, with reviews noting the friendly and warm atmosphere. Jared Cote emphasizes the intimacy of the space, while Lorrie Dudley enjoyed the meat and vegetable combo, accentuated by a delightful traditional coffee service. Regardless of the minor drawbacks, such as the rustic setting and lack of alcohol, Gojo Ethiopian Cafe and Restaurant shines as a must-visit for anyone seeking a heartfelt journey through Ethiopian flavors. Truly, it's a gem for food lovers in Nashville!

Quaint little place. It could use some upgrades as far as the building goes. My husband and I stopped in on a whim, just to try something new. Parking is located in the rear. The deck/outdoor seating area seems very rustic and the boards seem weak. Take caution when walking on it. The interior is outdated but clean. The food is phenomenal. We ordered an appetizer. I can't remember the name of it but it had some cheese on baguettes and a little spicy. Very good, but it only came with 4. So it was pricy for what you get. I highly recommend the Chicken tibs. The viggies were good. The red lentils were seasoned to perfection. The yellow lentils were a little bland in my opinion, not bad, just bland. The food was a little pricy but very filling. No silverware is served with the meal, you simply use the bread to pick up the food to eat.

Little hole in the wall restaurant with great food and friendly service. We tried the avocado salad, meat and vegetable combo, followed by the traditional coffee service. Everything was beautifully spiced. Meats were tender. Vegetables were delicious. The coffee service was a nice way to finish the meal.

Ethiopian food is delicious, packed full of flavor and spices! Coming to this restaurant makes you feel right at home with the intimate and comfortable dining room. The people who work here are extremely pleasant and warm. The only thing is they don't serve any alcohol but you are encouraged to bring any drinks from the outside and they will happily bring you wine glasses to enjoy your drinks! 10/10 would recommend this to anyone who wants a pleasant experience with delicious food

The service is great. I order the Kitfo well done with farmers cheese and collard greens and beets. Kitfo is very seasoned spicy ground beef with injeri bread. Their bread & cheese are the best of all Ethiopian restaurants in Nashville.

Upon trying Ethiopian food for the first time, I was impressed by the lunch buffet's homemade flavors. Veggie options abounded, and the beef and potatoes were particularly tasty.

Welcoming atmosphere with friendly & helpful staff. My order was as follows: Appetizers: Ayib Begomena with Avocado Salad. Entree: Meat and Veg combo which included Minchet Abish Deqa, Key Wet, Kik Alicha, and Yeatkilt Wet. All meals are served with plenty of Injera. Finished the meal with freshly roasted coffee that was smooth and chocolatey. Absolutely delicious!

This is a very cute little restaurant serving authentic Ethiopian cuisine in very cozy surroundings. It tasted like a home cooked meal and the flavors were quite diverse. They give you the option to combine your orders so you can eat family style. The injera was fresh and fluffy. We got the lamb and chicken which were both very flavorful. The star of the show for me were the mushrooms and collard greens.
